Dr. Albert Banerjee is a critical gerontologist with an interdisciplinary background in psychology (BA), Communications (MA), and Sociology (PhD). He is currently the Research NB Research Chair in Community Health and Aging and Associate Professor of Gerontology at St. Thomas University in Fredericton. The thread that runs through Dr. Banerjee’s research is a commitment to moving beyond instrumental approaches to health. His research approaches the aging population as an opportunity to rethink the values that have dominated health discourse and to promote new visions, policies and practices that can enable us to live well as mortal beings.
