Mentorship Experiences in Gerontology

CAG Student Connection - Connection Étudiante

Thursday, October 24, 2024

1:00pm - 4:00pm

No registration fee, but pre-registration is required.

Registration is limited to current students and recent graduates (2 years).

Description

This event is to discuss, create, and support mutually beneficial relationships between emerging and experienced scholars. The session will include opportunities to make several connections through structured speed networking, as well as small and large group interactive activities designed for deeper networking. Opportunities for connection will be designed according to information registrants provide prior to the pre-conference workshop, including research interests, methods, disciplines, and experiences. Mentors who align with mentees’ interests and experiences will be in attendance to support and participate in the workshop activities. The session will consider how a community of gerontologists with diverse mentorship experiences can address current complexities and advance transformations throughout and beyond the 53rd Annual Scientific and Educational Meeting of the Canadian Association on Gerontology. Through attention to registrants’ research methods, interests, and disciplines, the session will facilitate connections that enable attendees to be agents of change in aging and gerontology.
